Gabrielle runs a successful Architecture & Interior design company called Spot This Space (spotthisspace.com), based just off Oxford Street in London. With some of the country's biggest developers as her current clients, Gabrielle not only designs but also does the construction fit-out of various penthouses, marketing suites, concierges, gyms, show flats, offices as well as retail spaces. She is a registered chartered Architect who has previously campaigned alongside the Royal Institute of British Architects to help change the face of architecture with the aim of giving the profession a ‘brand overhaul’. She believes that architects and developers need to communicate the extent of their versatility in the current economic climate.
Director of architectural/interior design practice Spot This Space Gabrielle works across the commercial and private sector at varying scales and is an outspoken advocate for the role of the architect-necessary link in building better places to live.
In 2013 she launched 'Tea with an Architect', which aimed to increase the interaction between architects and their local community in a relaxed, approachable environment. The year-long campaign, which saw more than 6000 architects register in more than 400 locations around the UK, also attempted to bring publicity to those smaller firms who found it harder to publicise themselves in difficult economic times: "People know who their local doctor is but they don’t know who their local architect is. So this is a chance for Architects to get to know their community and vice versa over a friendly cup of tea."
Over the past few years, Gabrielle has championed both architecture and women in architecture, undertaking talks such as The AJ (Architects Journal) Women In Architecture event at the NLA, Architect Question Time at 100% design and Ask the Architect at Grand Designs Live. It is, however, with her firm Spot This Space that Gabrielle has really achieved personal accomplishment. Setting up the business in 2008, she has won projects not only in the UK but all over the world. Ranging from high-end Interiors to conceptual master planning projects, Gabrielle has strived to make a practice that stands for good design both on paper and in business.
