Becky’s love and understanding of how to catch fish and cooking it started from a very young age - thanks to her upbringing, growing up on her parents' Fish Farm in Kent, with regular trips to Kenya to go deep-sea fishing. Her passion for educating and filling friends with food meant a career in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry had to change, and she is now a trained chef and fish enthusiast.
The family restaurant on the Fish Farm saw Becky spending many summer holidays catching fish and slowly learning the ropes of a professional kitchen. Becky went on to spend time at both Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Billingsgate Fish Market, where she honed her skills and expertise in preparing and understanding how to work with such delicate and interesting ingredients with a no fuss attitude.
Simple and delicious food with fresh, good quality ingredients is Becky’s mantra and she continues this approach through teaching and cooking for private clients. Becky is also a home economist and has worked for a range of chefs and brands including Waitrose, BBC Good Food Show and Saturday Kitchen Live. Becky has also been involved with Channel 4 programme ‘Tried and Tasted – the Ultimate Shopping List’, joining food experts including Michel Roux Jr, Jay Rayner and Giles Coren to blind taste test some of the nation’s favourite dishes.
Becky’s enthusiasm, knowledge and passion combined with her girl next door charm brings a fresh, young approach to both fish and ‘proper’ wholesome cooking.
